Connellsville chamber seeks award nominees
CONNELLSVILLE – The Greater Connellsville Chamber of Commerce issues a reminder that nominations for the annual community service awards are being accepted, but time is running out. The awards dinner and presentation is slated for Feb. 15 at the Pleasant Valley Country Club, Route 982.
According to Chris Wagner, executive director, each year the chamber recognizes those who have distinguished themselves as outstanding citizens.
Wagner said the categories and descriptions for the awards include the following:
– Community Service Award: This award is presented to a group and/or individual who has displayed dedication to a community project.
– Distinguished Citizen: Presented to an individual whose efforts better life in the Connellsville area.
– Athena Award: Presented to a woman or gentleman within the community who displays noteworthy dedication to a community project or cause.
– Beautification Award: This award will be presented to a business or retailer with a completed project. This being a Beautification Award, the project must appropriately add to the appearance of the community in an impressive and attractive manner.
Wagner said that the nominations should include a brief letter of explanation as to why the person or organization is being designated for the recognition.
The name and address of the nominator and nominee must be included and will be accepted by mail directed to the chamber office at 923 W. Crawford Ave., Connellsville, Pa., 15425, or personal delivery.
According to Wagner, all nominations will remain confidential until the awards banquet.
