State police said Kathy Smith, 40, of White was making a left turn when her vehicle skidded off Mine Hill Road and into a ditch Friday at 7:20 p.m.

State police said Jennifer Elcock, 40, of 1120 Dogwood Drive was injured when vehicles driven by David Elcock, 40, of 1120 Dogwood Drive and Joseph Striner, 25, of 1325 East Dushane Ave. collided on Route 119 Friday at 2:20 a.m.

Vehicle damaged
Robert Lake of 356 Georges/Fairchance Road told state police an unknown person damaged the front windshield of his truck while parked at Marathon gas station in Vanderbilt sometime between 7 p.m. and midnight Thursday. Police said three tires were also damaged.

People injured
State police said Nathaniel Chandler, 47, of Fairchance and Gail Peterson, 48, of Uniontown sustained injuries when the vehicle Chandler was driving struck a tree while traveling north on Route 119 Saturday at 2:46 a.m.

David Cunningham of Highland Avenue told city police at 2:15 p.m. Friday that someone struck his vehicle while it was parked along the avenue near his residence.

License plates tapered with
City police said several license plates have been tampered with recently.
Brian Thomas of 151 Coolspring St. told police Friday at 7:18 a.m. that someone cut the registration sticker off his license plate. Thomas said he did not see or hear anything suspicious Thursday night, police said.
Mattathias Harris of 15 Collins Ave. and Charles Dean of 21 Collins Ave. told police someone stole the license plates off their vehicles sometime Thursday night. Police said both vehicles were parked near their owner’s residences.
While patrolling the area Thursday at 10:23 a.m. police said they spotted a vehicle without its license plate. The vehicle’s owner, identified as Glenn Lyons of 33 Collins Ave., told police the license plate must have been stolen overnight.
Patricia Kelly of 219 Searight Ave. told police Saturday at 9:12 a.m. someone stole the license plate off her vehicle while it was parked in front of her residence.

City police said they responded to a domestic disturbance at 73 Pershing Court at 10:22 a.m. Friday. Police said they were called to the location again at 1:50 p.m.

Windshield busted
Gary Gibson of Goodwill Industries told city police Friday at 3:01 p.m. that someone threw a rock and busted the windshield out of a company van.

Warrant served
City police said 19-year-old Thomas M. Solomon was taken into custody after he was pulled over for a traffic stop on Millview Street at 4:33 p.m. Friday. Police said state police had an active warrant out for Solomon’s arrest. In addition, Solomon was also driving on a suspended license, police said.

Larry Burd of 238 Evans St. told city police vandals busted the windshield out of his vehicle and stole a CD/stereo player and 50 compact discs between 4 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday.

Natasha Popovich of 116 Pershing Court told city police Friday at 11:11 p.m. that someone ransacked her apartment looking for money and stole a DVD player.

Woman charged
City police said 27-year-old Maria Atkinson was charged with giving false reports to law enforcement after Atkinson allegedly gave officers a false name and birth date when questioned Saturday at 8 a.m.

Statue stolen
Mary Machesky of 55 South Mount Vernon Ave. told city police someone stole a two-foot ceramic statue of the Virgin Mary off her front porch sometime Thursday night. Police said Machesky is offering a reward to anyone who returns her statue.

Vehicle recovered
State police said a stolen vehicle was recovered Saturday at 12:10 p.m. According to police, the vehicle’s owner, Stephen Neubauer of Uniontown spotted the stolen vehicle in Uniontown and called 911. Police said the vehicle was stopped by officers from the Brownsville Police Department at the intersection of Route 40 and Route 166. The vehicle was operated by a 16-year-old male who was charged with receiving stolen property, police said.

State police said Lu Lin of Pittsburgh and Thomas Floyd of Monessen sustained minor injuries after their vehicles collided at the intersection of Route 201 and Quaker Church Road at 1:30 p.m. Friday.
