Julia Giocondi Majka
Julia M. Giocondi Majka, age 83, of Star Junction, Pa., passed away Sunday, January 23, 2005. Julia was born April 16, 1921, in Star Junction, Pa., daughter of Giacomo Giocondi and Marie Marchi Giocondi.
Julia was a lifelong resident of Star Junction and lifelong member of Saint John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Perryopolis, Pa.
She was a member of The Roman Star Lodge, Saint John’s Golden Agers and Saint John’s Altar Society all in Perryopolis.
Julia was an excellent homemaker, cook and baker and will be sadly missed by all her family, friends and neighbors!
She was preceded in death by a sister, Delva Trevisanutto, two brothers, Marion Giocondi and Geno Giocondi, and her parents.
Julia is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, William Majka Sr.; two beloved children: William Majka Jr. and his wife, Betty, of Painesville, Ohio, and Sharon Thompson and her husband, Patrick, of Perryopolis, Pa.; two granddaughters whom she adored: Michelle Clarke and her husband, Matt, of Painesville, Ohio, and Krista Thompson of Jefferson Hill, Pa.; two great grandchildren whom she loved: Hannah Clarke and Jonathan Clarke both of Painesville, Ohio; sisters: Josephine Soltis and husband, Steve, of Crestwood, Illinois, and Delmira Buretz of Star Junction, Pa.; brothers: Joseph Giocondi Sr. and wife, Elvera, and Albert Giocondi Sr. and wife, Rose, both of Star Junction, Pa.; sister-in-law, Theresa Giocondi of Chicago, Illinois; many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 East Independence Street, Perryopolis, Pa., on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held Thursday, January 27, at 9:30 a.m.
Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in Saint John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, with the Rev. Father John T. Euker as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Perryopolis.

Altar Society and members of Saint John’s will recite the Rosary in the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
A Wake Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Wednesday evening at 8:15 p.m.
