Eddie Sims
Eddie Sims, 74, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Saturday evening, Jan. 22, 2005. Born June 11, 1930, in Chester, S.C., he was the son of the late Jim Sims and Marie Fergason Sims.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian and his second wife, Constance; and brothers, Jay Robert Sims and Willie James Sims.
He was a member of The First Baptist Church of Lamberton,
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda D. Sims; the following children, Gladys Quarrie and husband, Grantley of Boonton, N.J., James Sims of Boonton, N.J., Darlene Sims and Angeline Sims, both of Baltimore, Md., and Latrica Sims of Philadelphia, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Kathleen Lewis of Baltimore, Md.; a stepson, James Lewis of Baltimore, Md.; stepchildren, Angel S. Jones, Tanya Mills, Channelle Mills, Lewis Mills and Linda Mills, all of Uniontown, Ruth Mills of Suiteland, Md., and Kimberly Mills of Brownsville, Pa.; several grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; his sister, Bessie Wilmore and husband, John of Irvington, N.J.; a brother, Elie Sims and wife, Mae of Morriston, N.J.; of Bal Rico, Fla.; and sisters-in-law, Margaret Sims, Darlene Pollard and Roxanne Bynum and husband, Kevin; and his mother-in-law, Ruth Ford and husband, Robert, who were Eddie’s caregivers; nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME, AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVE., UNIONTOWN, on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005 from 2 to 6 p.m., and on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of service, with Pastor Larry Burden officiating. Interment will follow.
