Wallace Johnson
Wallace Johnson, 72 of Allison, Pa., passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, in Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born Dec. 14, 1933, in Allison, Pa., son of the late Eric Johnson and Sally Freeman Johnson.
He was raised in Allison, and graduated from Redstone High School, where he ran track and played football. He served as a veteran with the Air Force as a fire fighter. He spent over 35 years with the U.S. Steel Corporation, in Lorain, Ohio.
Uncle Wallace, as the family all called him, had no children of his own, so he enjoyed visiting and vacationing with his siblings, their families and many neighbors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Dolores Jean Johnson Settles; brothers, George Freeman and wife, Sarah, Eric Johnson Sr., and wife, Mary, William Johnson Sr., and wife, Earl Sr. and William Johnson; a sister-in-law, Lucia Johnson; and a niece, Donna Jean Freeman.
Surviving are one brother, Curtis Johnson and wife, Louise of Warren, Ohio; and two sisters-in-law, Yvonne Johnson of Uniontown, Pa., and Nadine Johnson of Republic, Pa. Uncle Wallace also leaves 83 nieces, nephews, great and great-grand nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main St., Uniontown, Pa., on Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, from 2 to 4 and 5 to 9 p.m., where services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Clara Yarborough officiating. Entombment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
