Charles R. Wood
Charles R. Wood, 78, of Washington, Pa., and formerly of Brownsville, Pa., died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005. He was born March 15, 1926, in Waynesburg, Pa., son of the late Charles V. and Effee Iams Wood.
Charles was a member of First United Methodist Church and Church Treasurer and Trustee for many years. He was Agent/Manager-Revenue Accounting for the Monongahela Railway, and a member of IOOF 51.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Johnson Wood; brothers, Clyde and Glenn Wood; and sisters, Dorothy Cox and Evelyn Hackney.
Surviving are three daughters, Karen Elaine Majoros of Pittsburgh, Pa., Linda Workman and husband, Thomas of Brownsville, Pa., and Kathleen Laick and husband, Robert of Washington, Pa.; six grandchildren, James Lee Majoros, Tammy Majoros, Kristen Workman, Thomas Workman Jr., and Timothy Laick and Christopher Laick; two great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Arlington Swaney; stepmother, Naomi Wood of Washington, Pa.; a sister, Elizabeth Cox of Amity, Pa.; stepbrothers, Robert and Lonnie Wood; and a stepsister, Nancy Fausak.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa., today from 6 to 9 p.m., and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Paul E. Wilson Sr., officiating. Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Brownsville, Pa.
