Four injured in traffic mishap

1 min read

GERMAN TWP. – A two-car accident along slush-covered roads left four people injured and emergency crews scratching their heads as to how two children were able to survive the head-on collision. Footedale Volunteer Fire Department Chief Ryan Suba said when he arrived along Tree Farm Road around 3:15 p.m., two unidentified children had been ejected through the rear window of a blue Ford Explorer and were sitting in the roadway, without major injuries.

“The girl has a nasty head laceration and a boy has a shoulder injury, but they are lucky it wasn’t much worse,” Suba said.

The driver and front seat passenger also suffered injuries in the crash. The driver of the other vehicle, a pickup truck, walked away unharmed despite massive damage to the front end of his vehicle.

Both children were taken by Fayette EMS for emergency treatment.

No further information was available by press time.
