Josephine A. Capitos DeMott, 96, of Dunbar, Pa., died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at home. She was born March 21, 1908 to the late Emedio and Nicolette (Gasbarro) Capitos.

She was a homemaker, and a member of the Saint Aloysius Roman Catholic Church. She also was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, was one of the Original Pizza Girls and Cook and was an avid bingo player.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank DeMott (1962); son, Anthony DeMott; and eight brothers and sisters, Mary, Edith, Constance, Lena, Pauline, Jean and Anthony (Tilly).

She is survived by daughter, Erma Kostelnik of Dunbar; three grandchildren, Jerry Kostelnik and Cathy Kostelnik, both of Dunbar and Timothy DeMott and wife Darla of Connellsville; three great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jacquelyn and Josh; and one great-great grandson, Luke.

Friends will be received at the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville St., Dunbar, today from noon to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., where Rosary will be recited today at 4 p.m. Morning prayers will be held in the funeral home Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial held at Saint Aloysius R.C. Church, Dunbar, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Fr. J. Edward McCullough officiating. Interment will be at Saint Rita Cemetery, Connellsville.
