Pauline Kough

Pauline Helman Kough, 94, a former resident of Uniontown, Pa., died in the Shady Grove Hospital, Gaithersburg, Md., on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005. She was born in Altenwald, Pa., on Sept. 27, 1910, a daughter of the late Wiley C. and Anna C. Frey Helman.

Mrs. Kough was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church of Uniontown, Pa., a member and former regent of the Daughters of American Colonists, the Fayette County Medical Auxiliary, the Daughters of 1812, and a member of the former Laurette Chapter No. 178 Order of Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Othello S. Kough M.D., on Feb. 17, 1991.

She is survived by five children, Rebecca K. O’Connell of Palos Park, Ill., Martha K. Bargren of Tacoma, Wash., Sarah J. Kough of Bethesda, Md., Alice K. Wilhelm of Vienna, Va., and John L. Kough of Bethesda, Md.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted in the Trinity United Presbyterian Church, Morgantown and West Fayette Street, Uniontown, Pa., on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Michael I. Orsted officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Presbyterian Church, the Uniontown Public Library or a charity of choice.
