Mary Elizabeth Ellis Novak, R.N.

Mary Elizabeth Ellis Novak, R.N., age 84, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Friday, January 28, 2005, in her home.

She was born March 27, 1920, in Fairmont, West Virginia, the daughter of William H. Ellis and Edna (Pegg) Ellis.

Mary graduated from Uniontown High School Class of 1938 and the now former Uniontown Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1941.

She enjoyed cooking, taking care of her family and arranging for their Club 41 Reunions.

Mary was a member of Saint John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, its Confraternity of Christian Mothers and The Jefferson Club.

Her husband, Frank E. Novak, died in 1992. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur Ellis, William Ellis, Robert Ellis, and her parents.

She is survived by the following four daughters and three sons: daughter, Mary Ellis Novak of Uniontown, Pa.; son Frank Novak and his wife, Betty, of Uniontown and their four daughters and families: Stephanie and her husband, Jonathan Jubin, of Smock, Pa., and their children Eddie, Austin, Trenton, Jennifer and Jessica, daughter Sarah and her husband, Aaron Strickland, of San Francisco, California, and their children, Carter and Collin, daughter Suzanne Novak of Uniontown, Pa., and daughter Rebecca and her husband, Aaron Stewart, of Winchester, Kentucky; daughter Roberta Novak of Uniontown, Pa.; daughter Patricia and her husband, Jess Parral, of Yorba Linda, California, and their children Amy, Katie and Emily; son James Novak and his wife, Nina, of Allison Park, Pa., and their family Matthew, Heath, Ryan, Michael and Andrew; son Joseph Novak and his wife, Angie, of Merrittstown, Pa., and their children Neil and Craig; and daughter Barbara and her husband, John Deffenbaugh, and their sons Michael and Nathan all of State College, Pa., and Brian Cuteri and his friend, Michelle, of Uniontown, Pa.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., where friends will be received on Sunday from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will continue on Monday, January 31, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:15 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 9:30 a.m. in Saint John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Jefferson Street, Uniontown, with the Rev. Father William J. Kiel as Celebrant.

Entombment will follow in Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
