Frank E. Guy, 87, of Smock, Pa., passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2005, peacefully at Beverly Health Care, with his family by his side. He was born April 11, 1918, at Keisterville, son of the late Thomas Sr., and Mary Smith Guy.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by the following brothers and sisters, Sophie Thomas and her husband, Joseph Thomas, Dorothy Balchalk, Thomas Guy Jr., and Mary Ann and John, in fancy; brothers-in-law, Michael Lazanich and Steve Knapp; and a sister-in-law, Kristin George.

Frank was a member of St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church and past President of the Holy Name Society. He owned and operated the Searight’s Service Station for almost 50 years, and was a member of the Fayette County Gasoline Dealer’s Association.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Josephine Pinskey Guy and a daughter, Barbara Kolessar and her husband, George of Smock, with whom he resided; a grandson, Frankie Guy and his wife, Michelle of Uniontown; granddaughters, Theresa Moser and her husband, Christopher Moser of Messmore, and Gwen Kolessar of Smock, and great-grandchildren, Kaylee Elizabeth, Jasmine, Nathaniel and Cody; the following brothers and sisters, Catherine Knapp of Uniontown, Frances Tokish and her husband, August of Herbert, Florence Lazanich of Euclid, Ohio, Edward Guy and his wife, Odessa of Willoughby, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Kelly and her husband, Jerry of Mentor, Ohio, a sister-in-law, Catherine Guy of Fairchance, and a sister-in-law, Jane Pinskey of Amherst, Ohio; a brother-in-law, George Balchalk of Uniontown, and a brother-in-law, Leo George Jr., of Mentor, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday until 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday, July 2, 2005, at 11 a.m., in the St. Thomas R.C. Church of Footedale, with the Rev. Fr. James L. Popochock as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Footedale. A Parish Wake Service will be held today at 3 p.m., in the funeral home.

Frank was a hard working man who lived for his family and his Church. He also loved the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
