Counterfeit discovered State police said a 51-year-old Brownsville woman tried to make a purchase at Georgio’s Pizza on High Street with a $20 bill that was later determined to be counterfeit Wednesday at 5:09 p.m.

She remained at the pizza shop until police arrived and reported that she did not remember where she obtained the bill and did not know it was counterfeit.

Vacant house fire

Volunteer firefighters from the township, West Leisenring, Hopwood and the Uniontown Fire Department responded to a fire at a vacant house at the corner of Coolspring and Murphy streets Thursday at 3:09 a.m.

They cleared the scene at 3:30 a.m. No injuries were reported.

Bicycle stolen

A dark blue Mongoose mountain bike was reported stolen from Denise Minnick’s 45 Union St. home Thursday at 1 a.m., city police said.

Disorderly conduct

William Peter Yagnich, 42, of 10 Reservoir Ave., Charleroi, was cited for two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of harassment for an incident that occurred at the baseball field in Newell at 8:30 p.m. June 14, Southwest Regional Police said.

The victim in the incident was Laura Gebauer, 41, of 66 Zippay Road, Charleroi.

Citations were filed in the office of Magisterial District Judge Jesse Cramer in Belle Vernon.
