Teen injured Tawnie Dean, 18, of Dilliner was transported to Greene County Memorial Hospital Wednesday following a 1:05 p.m. accident on Route 21 near Ridge Road. Police said Dean fell asleep, crossed the eastbound lane and went up an embankment, striking a tree and uprooting it. After that, police said Dean’s Pontiac Grand Am re-entered Route 21 and crossed both lanes before climbing the embankment on the north side and coming to rest. Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted police.

Charges filed
State police at Waynesburg said Maxine Virginia Darr of Mount Morris and Ann Marie Carey of Mount Morris were cited for harassment for an altercation that happened at 442 Robert’s Run Tuesday.

Fugitive arrested
Carla Jean Weimer, also known as Carla Jean Davanzo, 29, who has been wanted for more than four years was arrested Friday at County Market, state police at Uniontown said. Weimer was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Deberah Kula on theft, receiving stolen property and bad checks charges, and placed in the county prison in lieu of $100,000 straight cash bond. She was also arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Lawrence Blair on a criminal mischief charge. He set bond at $1,000 straight cash. Police said Weimer is also wanted in Westmoreland County, as well as West Virginia, Kentucky and South Carolina.

Motorcycle accident
David W. Gratchic, 19, of Uniontown was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., with serious injuries he suffered in an accident on a motorcycle Friday at 8:49 p.m. on Farm Road, state police said. His condition was not available Saturday. He was traveling south when he was involved in an accident with Roberta Kelly, 62, of New Salem, who was southbound, police said.
Gratchic and his motorcycle were propelled into the air after the impact and landed on the road south of the point of impact, police said. He was wearing a helmet. His bike was severely damaged. The accident is under investigation and citations could be filed.

Safety checkpoint
State police stopped 287 vehicles while conducting a traffic safety checkpoint on Bear Rocks Road, a quarter mile north of Rock Ridge Road Friday from 5:20 to 9 p.m. Crime and patrol unit officers and a police dog took part in the checkpoint. Seven people were arrested for possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. Drugs seized were marijuana, LSD and prescription painkillers. Four people were cited for driving with a suspended license, three for driving with a driving under the influence-related suspended license, two for driving without a license, one for driving an unregistered vehicle, one for an illegal registration transfer, one for driving without insurance, one for having an open container of alcohol and one for littering. Police also issued 48 written warnings.

A Craftsman 23 horsepower garden tractor owned by Terry Scott Price of Fairchance was stolen Friday between 6 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. from 1515 Georges-Fairchance Road, state police said.

Driver cited
Timothy A. Carlson, 46, of Mohrsville was cited for speeding following an accident with Megan M. Brewer, 21, of Uniontown on Route 41 east at Hawes Road Friday at 3:54 p.m., state police said. No injuries were reported.

Rings stolen
State police said Martisha R. Hall reported that two wedding rings were stolen from her 353 Ferguson Road residence between June 1 and 8.

Man robbed
Edward Price of 85 Mullen Ave. told city police two men robbed him and stole his wallet containing $560 and a gold necklace Saturday at 4:16 p.m.
According to police reports, Price was walking along South Mount Vernon Avenue behind the Polish Club when a black man grabbed Price’s right arm, twisted it behind his back, and threatened to kill him if he didn’t hand over his money. Price told police the man then reached into Price’s pocket and removed his wallet.
During the incident, police said a white man ripped a necklace off Price and also tried to steal a gold bracelet off his arm.
Price told police the black man was 5 feet 8 inches tall with rough facial hair. He had on a white tank top and black shorts. The white man was 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall and weighed approximately 200 pounds. He had hoop earrings in both ears, an eyebrow ring, and had on a gray and white shirt, police said.

Woman arrested
City police said they arrested Stephanie Mitchell of 4 Ash Road on an active felony warrant out of Greensburg at 8:10 a.m. Friday. Police said Mitchell was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Greensburg Police Department.

Edward Fabian told city police someone entered his 223 Searights Ave. residence Saturday at 9:43 p.m. and stole several CDs belonging to his son, Edward Fabian Jr.
