Man shot at Searights Village
State police are looking for at least two black male suspects who were involved in an early Saturday morning incident in Searights Village in Menallen Township, where a man was shot several times. Maurice McBride, 27, was shot in the incident that started outside of his 512 Searights Village home at 3 a.m. and was airlifted by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital. His condition was not available.
Police said McBride and his girlfriend were standing outside their residence when the suspects arrived in a dark colored vehicle of an unknown make and model.
McBride began to run after one of the suspects got out of the vehicle and started walking toward him. The suspect chased him and opened fire with a handgun, striking him several times, police said.
After McBride collapsed, the suspects fled in the vehicle.
One of the suspects also fired a shot at a 17-year-old male who was watching the incident from his window in another apartment, but missed, police said.
The bullet went through the window and the juvenile was not injured.
Windows on two vehicles in the parking lot were also shattered by the gunfire.
Police are asking that anyone with information about the incident to call the station at 724-439-7111.
