Alesso M. Capella, age 78, of 120 Wood Street, Connellsville, Pa., died Sunday, July 3, 2005, at home. He was born June 15, 1927, in Connellsville, Pa., the son of Nicholas Capella and Philomenia Cazza Capella.

Mr. Capella was a retired employee from West Penn Power with 32 years of service and a veteran of World War II who served in the United States Army.

He was a member of Saint Rita Roman Catholic Church, a Life Member of the B.P.O.E. No. 503, The Slovak Club, and The Italian Independent Social Club all in Connellsville.

His parents, two brothers, Frank Capella and Nicholas Capella, and four sisters, Rose Housel, Mary Miller, Rita Kindsfather, and Frances Heffley, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores Lanzi Capella; a son, Alesso Capella and his wife, Noma, of Glendale, Arizona; a daughter, Andrea Capella Swink and her husband, William Swink, of Fredericksburg, Virginia; a brother, Robert Capella of Apex, North Carolina; and two grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the RICHARD KUCERA FUNERAL HOME, 127 East Fairview Avenue, Connellsville, Pa., on Wednesday, July 6, from 12 noon to 9 p.m. where a Blessing Service will be held Thursday, July 7, at 9:30 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in Saint Rita Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville, with the Rev. Father Francis A. Lesniowski as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Saint Rita Cemetery, Connellsville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to the Albert Gallatin Home Care and Hospice, 20 Highland Park Drive, Uniontown, PA 15401.
