Kathryn E. “Kit” Edwards Wagner

Kathryn E. “Kit” (Edwards) Wagner, 90 years, of Ellenton, Florida, and formerly of Fairchance, Pa., died Tuesday, June 28, 2005, in her residence with her loving husband by her side.

She was born January 15, 1915, in Huntingdon, Pa., daughter of Ellet E. Edwards and Edith Eulala Claybaugh Edwards.

“Kit” was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fairchance, Pa., a Girl Scout Leader for over twelve years in Fairchance, a member of the Fairchance American Legion Post No. 342 Auxiliary and past President of the Mountain Laurel Garden Club.

She was also a Golden Star Member of the Order of the Eastern Star having been initiated on May 17, 1951, and served as Past Matron of Laurette Chapter No. 175, which became affiliated with the Order of the Eastern Star Uniontown Chapter No. 263 in 1996.

“Kit” was predeceased by her parents and her brother, John V. Edwards.

Surviving are her husband of sixty years, Robert D. Wagner, who was a co-owner of the Wagner-Cooley Funeral Home in Fairchance for many years; and her loving sister, Alice Joy Edwards Hohmann of Palm Springs, California.

The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., on Wednesday, July 6, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, July 7, at 2 p.m. in STRAUB CEMETERY, FROSTY VALLEY, DANVILLE, Pa.

The Order of the Eastern Star will hold a Memorial Service in the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m.
