Fatal accident A West Virginia woman died Sunday after she was thrown from the back of a motorcycle on southbound Interstate 79.
Kathie Glymp, 59, of 512 Center Ave., Weston, W.Va., was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident 1/8 mile north of mile marker 25 from blunt force trauma about 40 minutes after the accident occurred.
The interstate was reduced to one lane for about two hours Sunday afternoon because of the accident.
Witnesses told state police in Washington that the woman’s husband, Joe Glymp, 58, of the same address, appeared to experience difficulty handling the Honda Gold Wing motorcycle, and the bike began to wobble. Glymp applied the brakes, but lost control, laying the bike on its side and striking the guardrail.
Kathie Glymp was ejected over a hillside. She was wearing a helmet, police said.
Ambulance transported Joe Glymp, who was also wearing a helmet, to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., for moderate injuries.
Amwell Township and Lone Pine fire departments, Ambulance & Chair Service and Southwestern Ambulance Service of Greene County assisted police at the scene.

Woman arrested
Tina Jackson, 38, of 50 Millview St. was charged with resisting arrest, simple assault, driving under the influence and disorderly conduct after a traffic stop on Bailey Avenue at 1:27 a.m. Monday, city police said.
Police said security personnel at Uniontown Hospital, where officers took Jackson for a blood-alcohol test, asked them to leave because she was yelling obscenities while other people were present. Police also said she kicked a patrol car door that hit an officer in the knees.

– Clyde Kisko Jr., 28, of 117 S. Mount Vernon Ave. was cited with public drunkenness for allegedly drinking a can of beer on the street outside his home Sunday at 11:24 p.m.
– Tracey Van Groves, 37, of 139 E. Fayette St. was cited with open containers and public drunkenness for allegedly drinking beer at 22 E. Main St. Sunday at 3:52 p.m.

City police have charged the following individuals in unrelated incidents:
– Keith Woods, 29, of Connellsville with public drunkenness after police allegedly found him intoxicated July 3 along North 8th Street.
– Kelly Martin, 39, of Dunbar with public drunkenness after police allegedly found him intoxicated July 2 along South 8th Street.
– Donald Snyder, 43, of Connellsville with public drunkenness after police allegedly found him intoxicated June 29 along South Prospect Street.
– John Wayne Bierer, 34, of Connellsville with retail theft after a Sheetz convenience store employee allegedly observed him June 29 leaving the Crawford Avenue business with an item that was concealed in his trousers.
– Two 17-year-old boys, a 17-year-old girl, a 16-year-old boy and girl and a 15-year-old boy, all of Connellsville, were charged by police after a 4:30 a.m. traffic stop on June 28. Police said the 15-year-old and 17-year-old boys were charged with violating the city curfew and underage drinking, while the 16-year-old boy and girl were charged with violating the designated curfew. The 17-year-old girl that was allegedly driving the vehicle was charged with underage drinking and driving on a junior driver’s license after hours.
– Sandra Pealer, 39, of Connellsville with criminal mischief after she allegedly was observed flattening the tire of a vehicle of an unidentified victim June 27. Police said the victim detained Pealer until officers arrived at the scene.
– Brian L. Albright Jr., 29, and Charlie R. Smith, 25, both of Connellsville, with public drunkenness after police allegedly found them consuming an alcoholic beverage while walking along South Arch Street on June 26.
– Lynda Vezzani, 56, of Connellsville with public drunkenness after police allegedly found her intoxicated in the 100 block of Freeman Lane on June 26.
– Jay S. Shipley, 25, of Connellsville with retail theft after he allegedly was observed concealing items June 23 at the Sheetz convenience store and attempting to leave the Crawford Avenue business without paying. Police said the items totaled $3.68.
– Christopher J. Tesauro, 30, of Connellsville with retail theft after he allegedly pumped $22 in gasoline at the Sheetz convenience store on June 22 and then fled without paying for the purchase.
– Randy J. Cartwright, 18, and Trevon French, 18, both of Connellsville, with harassment after they each allegedly struck an unidentified male during a June 22 incident.
– Robert Hart, 33, of Connellsville, with public drunkenness after police allegedly found him intoxicated July 2 along South Pittsburgh Street.
