Marietta Daumit
Marietta Veltre Daumit, 79, of Monessen, Pa., died Thursday, June 30, 2005. A lifelong resident of Monessen, she was born in Webster, Pa., on May 16, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Leonardo and Sarah Romano Veltre.
A homemaker, Mrs. Daumit was Presbyterian by faith, and belonged to the Eastern Star No. 205 of Monessen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Angeline Hibar, Frances Dalola and Lucille Lesie; and four brothers, Anthony, John, Joseph and Frank Veltre.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, A. James Daumit II and wife, Carol of Scenery Hill, and Edmund A. Daumit Jr., and wife, Sandra of Uniontown; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Porter and husband, James of Pasadena, Md.; four grandchildren, Amy Hudock and husband, Christopher, A. James Daumit III, Joshua S. Porter and Caleb H. Porter; two sisters, Rose G. Lengel of Donora and Antoinette Grant of Levittown; former husband, Edmund A. Daumit Sr., of Jefferson Hills; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC. 1209 Grand Boulevard, Monessen, A Golden Rule Member, on Tuesday, July 5, 2005, from 7 to 9 p.m., and will be held today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home, on Thursday, July 7, 2005, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Glen H. Burrows officiating. Interment will follow in St. Dominic’s Cemetery, Donora. Eastern Star Services will be held in the funeral home, this evening at 7:30 p.m.
