Freedom of Soul, Hip Hop Ministry comes from Brooklyn, N.Y. It was founded by the Rev. Peter Carrion who grew up in Brooklyn. As a teenager, he got involved with drugs and parties. He came from a drug-infested home. His father sold drugs and his mother was going to clubs every weekend. The police would constantly raid the home in search of drugs. But at 18, he responded to the call of God and has been in ministry for 12 years. Freedom of Soul Ministry focuses on reaching youths with the good news of Jesus Christ. Freedom of Soul started in 2000 as a break-dancing school. He formed a hip hop team that travels nationally, bringing the message of hope to youths.

Carrion is a partner of TRUCE International Ministries, started by the former gang member Nicky Cruz. Carrion’s vision is to see young people who are being influenced by the secular hip hop culture come to know Christ.

Admission is free to all three events.
