July 8, 2005 Inmate convicted
Fayette County jurors have convicted a prisoner at the State Correctional Institution at Fayette in Labelle, Luzerne Township, of spitting on a correctional officer.
Tyrone Moss, 41, will be sentenced at a later date for aggravated harassment by a prisoner. He spat on Sgt. Gary Robert Crayton on June 2, 2004.
Court documents indicate that Moss was being transferred from one area to another when he spit in Crayton’s face. Moss is in prison on charges from Dauphin County.
Jury issues verdict
A Fayette County jury convicted a Charleroi man of simple assault Thursday.
Fayette City police charged William J. Henry, 56, of 705 Washington Ave. after he kicked Shaun Janos in the head at a borough store on July 9, 2004. Police said Janos was being held down by another man when Henry kicked him.
Henry will be sentenced later.
Man convicted
Paul Almon Fluitt, 27, of 131 Altman Road, Jeannette, has been convicted of possession with intent to deliver drugs, possession and resisting arrest in Fayette County Court.
Fluitt, police charged, was pulled over in Connellsville last June 21 after a city officer saw him driving and knew he did not have a valid license. When police checked Fluitt for weapons, they found individually wrapped baggies of crack, totaling 2.4 grams.
When police tried to arrest Fluitt for possession of the drugs, he ran from them.
Fluitt will be sentenced later.
