Lucille Anne Steve
Lucille Anne (Kascak) Steve, 79, of Smithfield, Pa., died suddenly Tuesday, July 5, 2005, in Uniontown Hospital. She was born Sept. 15, 1925, in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter of the late George A. Kascak and Sophie Bujnak Kascak.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her infant son, Louis Steve; sisters and brothers, Sister Mary Ladislas V.S.C., Joseph Spirko, Mary Smolko, Helen Gall, Joseph Spriko, Justine Fecko, Peter Spirko and George Kascak; and a stepmother, Susan Stefancin.
She was a very devout Catholic, who lovingly embraced and taught her faith and a member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church of Fairchance, and the Christian Mothers.
Lucille was the beloved wife of 59 years of her husband, Michael L. Steve Sr.; beloved mother of her ten children, Michael Steve Jr., and wife, Zlata of Columbus, Ohio, George M. Steve and wife, Carol of Beallsville, Pa., Daniel J. Steve and wife, Jackie of Long Beach, Calif., Anthony M. Steve of Smithfield, Pa., Susan E. Moser and husband, Bill of New Cumberland, Pa., Lucille A. Pierce and husband, David of Ocilla, Ga., Sophie M. Haser and husband, Eric of Powell, Ohio, Sister Mary Elizabeth Steve C.P. of Pittsburgh, Pa., Michele L. Lemunyon and husband, Greg of Barnesville, Ohio, and Dianne K. Sutton and husband, Bob of Smithfield, Pa.; beloved grandmother of 17 grandchildren; and beloved sister of Margaret Palincsar and Sophie Seman, both of Fort Myers, Fla.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN S. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church St., Fairchance, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, July 9, 2005, until 9:30 a.m., when a prayer service will be held. A Mass of Christian Burial follows in Ss., Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, Fairchance, Pa., at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Fr. Andrew M. Kawecki as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa. A Parish Wake Service will be held this evening at 8:45 p.m. Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary Friday evening at 6:30 p.m.
