Parade planned

The Fayette Chamber of Commerce is planning a parade Sept. 10 in Uniontown to kick off the 84 Lumber Classic, which is scheduled for Sept. 12-18 at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Spa.

The “84 Lumber Classic Kick Off Community Parade” will start at 11 a.m. at Uniontown High School, Fayette Street.

From there, the long procession will travel up Stewart Avenue to Five Corners East before heading down Main Street all the way to Five Corners West, where it will return to Fayette Street and to the school.

“We want it to be big,” said Charmaine Sampson, assistant to Joseph A. Hardy III, who founded 84 Lumber and owns Nemacolin.

Golf tournament tickets and merchandise will be on sale at the Farmer’s Market on the day of the parade.

The march is still in the planning stages.

Bands and organizations wishing to participate in the parade should call the chamber at 724-437-4571.
