Olive May Collins

Olive May Cox Collins, 94, of Smyrna, Del., formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Monday, July 4, 2005, at her residence. She was born May 27, 1911, in Connellsville, Pa.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Edwin E. Cox and Ida Emma Eicher Cox, her husband, Charles W. Collins Sr., and four brothers, Charles, Russell, Milton and Raymond Cox.

Mrs. Collins was a former bookkeeper for the West Penn Railway Company of Connellsville, Pa., a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, the Adrian Bible Class, Margaret E. Cavern Shrine No. 42 of Pennsylvania, Order of Easter Star No. 263 and White Shrine of Jerusalem.

Surviving are two sons, Raymond Edwin Collins and his wife, Mildred of Smyrna, Del., with whom she made her home, and Charles W. Collins Jr., and his wife, Shirley of the state of Maine; a daughter, Beverly Ruth Collins Waugh of Pittsburgh, Pa.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lester Cox of Somerset, Pa.

Friends were received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, Pa., on Friday until 10 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev Emily Byrd officiating. Interment was in Normalville Cemetery.
