Donald Quinn
Donald Quinn, 83, of Perryopolis, Pa., passed away Thursday, July 14, 2005, in his home. He was born June 22, 1922, at Borden Shaft, Md., son of the late William and Anna McCutcheon Quinn. He passed away peacefully in his home, with his loving family around him.
Donald was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army in the Pacific. He was a volunteer for 22 years at the Perryopolis Senior Citizen Center, where he would call Bingo, was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed watching Penn State football with his grandson, Michael. His sense of humor and caring heart will be missed tremendously. Donald was also a member of the Sons of Italy of Perryopolis.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Josephine Kavulick Quinn; two sons and one daughter, Randy Quinn and wife, Marianne of Chambersburg, Pa., Gregory Quinn of Newport News, Va., and Donna Nassry of Hopwood, Pa.; four grandchildren, Michael, Meghan, MacKenzie and Shannon; and three sisters, Dorothy Stimmel, LaVerne Bloom and Mildred Franks, all of Star Junction, Pa.
Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 East Independence St., Perryopolis, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, with the Rev. Fr. John T. Euker as celebrant. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery. A Wake Service will be held on Sunday at 8 p.m. Graveside military rites will be accorded by VFW Goldstar Post No. 7023 and American Legion No. 752 of Perryopolis.
