Stanley Karas
Stanley Karas, age 82, of Fairchance, Pa., died unexpectedly early Saturday, July 16, 2005, in Uniontown Hospital. He was born September 17, 1922, in Shoaf, Fayette County, Pa., son of John Karas and Anne Berish Karas.
Stanley was a veteran of World War II who served in the United States Army.
He was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service at the post office in Parma, Ohio, for 20 years until his retirement.
Stanley was a member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church in Fairchance and the Point Marion V.F.W. Post 747.
Surviving are his loving wife, Elizabeth Stager Karas; two children: Marcia Bresson and husband, Steve, of Ellicott City, Maryland, and John Karas of Rockville, Maryland; two brothers: Francis Karas of Cleveland, Ohio, and Charles Karas of West Palm Beach, Florida; and one sister, Doris Karas Bielecki of Phoenix, Arizona.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., today from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, July 19, until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in Ss. Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church, Fairchance, with the Rev. Father Andrew M. Kawecki as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa., where Military Rites will be accorded by Point Marion V.F.W. Post 747.

Parish Wake Service will be held today at 4 p.m.
The Confraternity of Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary today at 6:30 p.m.
