Florence Mae “Babe” Chambers, age 86, of Waynesburg, Pa., died Sunday, July 17, 2005 at the home of her caregivers, Alice and Harold Hennen in Waynesburg. “Babe” was the founder of the Bureau of Youth Services in Waynesburg Area. She was the recipient of the Golden Key Award through the Department of Welfare, and was honored by Community Action as an Outstanding Senior Citizen. She partnered the creation of the Faithful Friends Pet Cemetery at Greene County Memorial Park.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda Lou Butcher and Sally Jean Rishell and husband Harry; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren all of Wayensburg; and one brother the Rev. Earl Freeland Jr. of Portsmouth, Virginia.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Wednesday at the Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, Pa., Chuck Behm, director where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2005.

Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Greene County, 183 Jefferson Road, Waynesburg, PA 15370.
