PFA violated Brownsville police charged John Petrillo, 40, of 310 Cadwallader St., Apartment 105, Brownsville, with indirect contempt of court and harassment for allegedly violating a protection from abuse order. The incident occurred Friday at 7:52 a.m. Petrillo was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Michael Rubish and released on $10,000 recognizance bond.

DUI arrest made
Clifford L. David, 52, of Jefferson was charged with driving under the influence after he was involved in a two-car accident on Route 188 at the Kurtz Mobile Home Park Monday at 2:30 p.m. when he struck the rear end of a car driven by William Kurtz, 70, of Jefferson, state police at Waynesburg said. David’s blood alcohol content was more than .08 percent, police said. No injuries were reported. Both cars were towed. The Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Medical Service responded. The charges were filed at Magisterial District Judge Neil Canan’s office.

State police said charges are pending against two known people for assaulting Stephanie Lynn Shank, 20, of Mount Pleasant in the Wal-Mart parking lot Saturday at 3 a.m., causing a serious eye injury.

Checkpoints scheduled
In light of ongoing efforts to keep the highways safe for the motoring public, members of the Troop B, Washington station will be conducting one or more sobriety checkpoints during various dates and times on various roadways throughout the county in the month of July. More driving under the influence of alcohol roving details will also be conducted throughout the year, according to a news release from Cpl. Donald F. Zimak of the state police.
