Robert L. “Boob” Turnbull, age 86, of Uniontown, Pa., died Tuesday, July 19, 2005, in the Uniontown Hospital with his loving family at his side. He was born May 28, 1919 in Dunbar, Pa.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother John Turnbull and a sister Margaret Turnbull Miller.

Mr. Turnbull was a heavy equipment operator with Kelley Industries prior to his retirement.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army Air Corps where he received the Purple Heart, Asiatic Pacific Marksman Rifle Medal and the Pearl Harbor Commemorative Medal. He was a survivor of the Attack on Pearl Harbor.

He was a member of the Grace Brethren Church of Uniontown and American Legion Post 51.

Surviving are his loving wife of 59 years, Emma Rose Kelley Turnbull, two daughters: E. June Turnbull Cravotta and her husband, Richard of Fairchance, Pa. and Donna J. Turnbull Glad and her husband, Robert of New Salem, Pa.; Six grandchildren, Rich Cravotta, III, D. Scott Cravotta, Debbie Markovich and her husband, Collin, Amy Beth Burnsworth and her husband Kevin, Robert J. Glad, Jr. and his wife, Candace and Allison Glad; four great-grandchildren, Peyton, Hayley, Kendal and Piper.

Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday until 11 a.m. the hour of service with the Rev. Nicholas Philiposian officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park, Brownfield, Pa.

Military Honors will be accorded graveside by American Legion Post 51, Uniontown, Pa.
