Petition denied The state Supreme Court denied the petition for allowance of appeal filed by Brandon Lee Teasdale, 28, of Rices Landing who was convicted of aggravated assault for punching and subsequently killing David Myers of Jefferson during a 2002 altercation.

Earlier this year, the state superior court upheld his conviction.

Teasdale was sentenced to 4 1/2 to 9 years in prison for Myers’ death. Teasdale was charged with criminal homicide, but jurors acquitted him.

Teasdale, who was on leave from the Marines at the time of the incident, and Myers, 43, got into a fight outside the Jefferson Hotel on Dec. 21, 2002 following a skirmish inside.

According to police, Myers struck his head on a sidewalk outside a Greene County barroom in 2002 after he was punched.

Myers was pronounced dead 90 minutes later at the hospital.

At his trial, Teasdale testified he punched Myers because he thought Myers was threatening him when he made a sudden movement. He attributed his reaction to Marine training.

During a brief agenda meeting Wednesday, the Greene County Commissioners placed an agreement on the agenda for today between the county and Dunkard Valley Municipal Authority for the installation of water pumps.

The agreement, which will be executed by Lone Pine Construction Co. will include the installation of raw water river pumps and control panels needed for the water authority.

The commissioners also conducted the following business:

-Discussed the purchase of property along Route 188 in Jefferson. The commissioners are expected to vote to purchase the land, which is available by judicial sale, today.

-Announced that the county will apply for a $72,752 grant from the state Board of Probation and Parole for improvements to the county’s adult probation services.
