The Rev. Ralph Oral Houseman

The Rev. Ralph Oral Houseman, a wonderful, loving, Christian Husband, father and grandfather went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 20, 2005. Rev. Houseman, 78, was born Aug. 29, 1926, in Belle Vernon, Pa.

He was the son of the late Oral Benton Houseman and Pearl (Comer) Houseman Haley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Eric Bennett and Jason Deer,; six brothers, Jim, Ray, Mel, Paul, John and an infant brother, Ivan.

The Rev. Houseman served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS California in the Pacific during World War II. He also served his Lord during his 40 years of ministry at the following Wesleyan churches: Richeyville, Josephine, West Newton, West Lebanon, Bellbridge, McKeesport, as well as Lexington, Ky., and Parkersburg and Clarksburg, ,W.Va.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Doris Faye (Edwards) Houseman of Smithton; five children, Ralph E. Houseman and wife, Linda of Elizabeth, Joyce F. Bennett and husband, Bill of West Newton, Rebecca S. Darst and husband, Butch of Wilmington, N.C., Bonnie L. King and husband, Michael Sr., of Bellville, N.C., and Sheri L. Yokiel and husband, Jim of Bentleyville; nine grandchildren, Beverly Plesniak and husband, Joe, Heather Bennett, JB Darst, Christina Deer, Michael Jr., and Morgan King and Larissa, Victoria and Caleb Yokiel; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Eileen Rubino of Smithton; and a brother, Jerry Houseman of Belle Vernon..
