Supreme Makeover contestant eagerly awaits results
In the nine months since Stacy Browne was selected as the winner of the Supreme Makeover contest, people have approached her wherever she goes asking when her transformation will be complete. She, and the inquiring public, will soon have their day.
Browne, of Uniontown, was selected in November to receive the makeover, which included dental implants, cosmetic surgery, Lasik eye surgery and a host of other prizes.
Browne, during a recent interview, admitted that the whole process has been overwhelming at times, but she’s had the support of family, friends, and even people she’s never met.
“People will see me at the store and ask me how everything is going and when it will be done,” she said. “They can’t wait to see the end result, and neither can I.”
She said the changes made to date have made her a more confident person who isn’t afraid to smile.
Penny Whoolery, marketing director for Cecchini & Cecchini dental office, which sponsored the contest, said that some of the treatments required as part of Browne’s makeover have taken additional time and pushed back the contest’s original timeframe.
When she was chosen, Browne’s reveal ceremony had been tentatively scheduled for spring.
She said clients come into the office often asking about Browne’s progress.
“Stacy has kept a good, positive focus on the results, when some people would have looked for opportunities to quit,” Whoolery said. “We’re proud of her for hanging in there and sticking with it for the long haul.”
She said the goal of the contest was to touch the community and do something positive for people. By transforming one person, Whoolery said she was hopeful that the winner would be so changed that he or she would be inspired to help others.
Browne said the experience has not been without challenges, and she encouraged anyone who might want to enter a future contest to have a strong support team in place. She said her children, her boyfriend and her co-workers have all helped her along the way.
“If you feel you need it, then go for it,” she said.
Browne’s reveal will he held at Anthony’s Lakeside Party Center at a date to be announced. That day, she will have her hair and makeup done at Bangz salon in Uniontown, receive a manicure and pedicure while there, and go shopping for new clothes at Uniontown Mall.
“She’ll arrive fashionably late, but we’ll bring her out so everyone can see her at once,” Whoolery said.
“We’re going to make the whole night about celebrating Stacy.”
Plans are in the works for another Supreme Makeover contest this fall, Whoolery said.
