Man charged in shooting incident
BULLSKIN TWP. – A 53-year-old man was charged with attempted homicide and a host of additional charges after he assaulted three people and fired a 12-gauge shotgun at one of them during an altercation Monday. Larry Harshman Swink, 53, fired one slug at 20-year-old Eric Swink at a residence along Swink Hill Road Monday afternoon around 1:15 p.m., police said.
Swink also allegedly tackled and choked Karen Swink and struck a third victim, Jerry Swink, 51, in the face, according to police reports.
When officers arrived on the scene, Swink also attempted to punch a trooper before being taken into custody.
Swink was charged with criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and resisting arrest before Magisterial District Judge Robert Breakiron.
Police said Swink is being held in the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $150,000 bail, awaiting his preliminary hearing scheduled for Aug. 2 at 9:30 a.m. before Breakiron.
