St. George Church plans parish festival Aug. 6-7

St. George Maronite Catholic Church, 6 Lebanon Terrace, Uniontown, will hold its annual parish mahrajan (festival) on Aug. 6 and 7. Events start at the 5 p.m. Divine Liturgy on Aug. 6. An Atlantic City casino night will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the parish hall. On Aug. 7, festivities start with the 10:30 a.m. Divine Liturgy followed by the festival on the church grounds and in the social hall from noon to 6 p.m. Featured will be Lebanese food including la’ham, mishwee (shish kabob) grape leaves, kibbi, cabbage rolls and more, as well as music and entertainment. Getting ready for the event are seated (from left) Thomas R. George, subdeacon; Georgia Mansberry, president of the Ladies Guild; Dee Unice, president of the Altar-Rosary Society; in back, Nichole Sisson, Garry Sisson Jr., casino night chairman; and Dr. Michael George, president of the parish council. Other committee members include Randy Richey, chairman; Harry Joseph, co-chairman; and Jim Nickman.
