Roy H. Schimonsky
Roy H. Schimonsky, age 82, of Brownsville, Pa., died Wednesday, Julyl27, 2005 in Tara hospital with his loving family at his side. He was born on October 29, 1922 in Bellevue, Pa., the son of William and Mary Suity Schimonsky.
He was a member and Lay Speaker of the First United Methodist Church in Brownsville and was a retired auto salesman later delivering medications for the Medicine Stop.
Roy was a Veteran of World War II, was awarded the Purple Heart, and became a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47 in Uniontown and the American Legion Post 295 in Brownsville.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Rose M. Martino Schimonsky, 6 daughters: Sandy Pugliesi and husband Andy of Webster, Pa., Rose Rambo and husband Mark, of Uniontown, Patty Bittner and husband Henry of Uniontown, Roileen Schimmel and husband Brett of New Salem, Lorilyn Crabb and husband Bill of Crafton Heights and Loralei Perozich and husband John of Pittsburgh, 10 grandchildren: Angie, Andy and Danielle Puglesi, Mark, Jr. and Melissa Rambo, Beth Redding, Michael Bittner, Brett Shawn Schimmel, Rachael Crabb nd Caleigh Perozich, and 8 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a great grandson: Zachary Ronald Johnson.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul E. Wilson, Sr. officiating.
Interment at LaFayette Memorial Park, where full military rites will be accorded by American Legion Posts 295, 275, 838, and 940.
