Torrean “Torry” Douglas Epps
Torrean “Torry” Douglas Epps was born on May 28, 1967, to William O. Epps Sr. and Katherine Joyce Epps both of Uniontown, Pa.
“Torry” was a 1985 graduate of Uniontown Senior High School.
He attended Memphis State University on a four-year football scholarship.
In 1990 “Torry” was selected in the NFL draft by the Atlanta Falcons.
He went on to play eight seasons as a defensive lineman for the Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears and the New Orleans Saints.
“Torry” also played two seasons with the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League.
Prior to his death “Torry” had just completed an internship to become a coach with the Rhein Fire of NFL Europe.
“Torry” passed away on Wednesday evening, June 1, 2005, in the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa.
“Torry” was preceded in death by his father, William O. Epps Sr., on August 23, 1985.
He is survived by his mother, Katherine Joyce Epps of Uniontown, Pa.; and the following sisters and brothers: William and Sherrilyn Epps Mahiri of Akron, Ohio, Denise and Cliff Davis of Morrow, Georgia, Paul and Dorothea Epps of Butler, Pa., Spencer and Ruth Epps of Adah, Pa., Ardeth J. Gilmore of Philadelphia, Pa., Joyce A. Grant and Tracy L. Epps both of Uniontown, Pa.; and one Goddaughter, Ayanna Johnson of Philadelphia, Pa.
He is survived by two Paternal Uncles: Richard Epps of Uniontown, Pa., and George Epps of Brooklyn, New York. He is also survived by six Maternal Uncles and 10 Maternal Aunts and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends will be received at the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., on Tuesday, June 7, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. where Services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Crable officiating assisted by the Rev. William Epps Jr.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery on North Gallatin Avenue Extension in Uniontown.
