Ida M. Ashton, 78, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 13, 2005, in Uniontown Hospital. Ida is survived by four sons, John Ashton and his wife, Kimberly of Hopwood, Weldon Ashton and his wife, Bobbie Jo of Hopwood, Harold Pierce and his wife, Mary of Uniontown, and Clarence Pierce and his wife, Marsha of Lemont Furnace; two daughters, Ida Roderick and her husband, William of Phillips, and Elsie Thomas of Connellsville; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the Dolfi Funeral Home, Uniontown, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday, June 17, 2005, from 9 until 10 a.m., the hour of service.
