Car damaged State police at Belle Vernon said Shirley Orbash reported that a window on her Pontiac Firebird was broken while the car was parked along Hopewell Road on Monday between 2:30 and 4 a.m.

Linda Trayter, 56, of Ruffsdale told state police at Belle Vernon that her Trayor Road home was broken into last Saturday evening and jewelry was taken. Anyone with information is asked to call the barracks at 724-929-6262.

Attempted burglary

State police at Belle Vernon said that part of a double paned glass sliding door was broken when someone tried to break into Olivia E. Frazier’s Eagle Street, Republic home last Saturday evening around 4:30 p.m.

Man assaulted

State police at Belle Vernon said Milo Brown, 47, of Republic was taken to Brownsville General Hospital on Sunday evening with an injury to his head because and that he was “extremely intoxicated.”

Police said Brown declined to speak to police, and said only that he was in a fight with a friend.

Charges pending

City police plan to charge a man with stealing food from the cupboards and refrigerator of the 78 Pershing Court home of Lori Ellis on Monday around 11:40 p.m.

Ellis told police that the man, whom she knows, got into her home through an unlocked kitchen window.

She found him taking the food after she heard a noise, and went to investigate.

Damage reported

Andrew J. Simko told city police someone broke three windows at his 20 E. Highland Ave. rental property. Witnesses told police a chair was used to break the windows.

Identity theft

Anthony Rose of 988 Cross St., Apt. 21, California, was charged Monday with conspiracy to commit identity theft, conspiracy to commit forgery, theft and receiving stolen property for an incident that occurred on June 3, borough police said.

Police said that following a burglary at 988 Cross St., Apt. 34, California, Rose allegedly used a stolen check owned by Steven Yawson to pay for repairs on his vehicle.

A preliminary hearing date has not been set.

DUI arrest

Edward Kash, 48, address unavailable, was charged Monday with driving after imbibing alcohol following an investigation into a series of hit-and-run complaints involving mailboxes on Malden Road, borough police said.

Police stopped a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle at 6:30 p.m. and said Kash appeared to be driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.

Police said Kash allegedly admitted hitting the mailboxes and was taken to Brownsville Hospital for chemical testing.

Kash was also charged with damage to unattended property and careless driving. A preliminary hearing date has not been set, police said.

Three charged in fight

Three men are facing charges for a fight that occurred at 6:30 a.m. at the Kwik Fill last Friday, borough police said.

James Dray, 47, of 419 Spring St., Richeyville, was charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct for allegedly striking Jacob Lazzaro, 27, of 242 Third St., California, in the face with a wood and metal pole during a fight. Dray’s son, Jared Dray, 19, of 7818 Old National Pike, Uniontown, was also involved in the incident, police said.

Lazzaro and Jared Dray were charged with disorderly conduct for their alleged roles in the disturbance. Lazzaro refused treatment for his injuries. No preliminary hearing date has been set, police said.

Cell phone stolen

State police at Waynesburg said a cell phone owned by Jerry Brothers of Bellbuckle, Tenn., was stolen from his tractor trailer at the Mount Morris Truck Stop on June 8 between 7 and 8 p.m.

Woman injured

Bonnie Elizabeth Barnhart, 48, of Ruffsdale suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Bus Garage and Middletown roads at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, state police said. Maria Antoinette Lamacz, 29, of Irwin was the other vehicle operator involved in the crash, police said. Both vehicle operators were restrained, and both vehicles had moderate damage, police said.

Robbery reported

State police said a known suspect walked into Sarnelli’s market along Route 711 and demanded money from a clerk at the cash register and claimed to have a gun and threatened to shoot the clerk at 8:25 p.m. Friday. Police said the clerk handed over currency from the register and the suspect fled on foot southbound on Route 711.

Police said the escape vehicle, a white Chevrolet Suburban, waited a short distance south of Sarnelli’s in a parking lot and fled southbound on Route 711 once the suspect was inside. Police said a witness chased after the vehicle for a short distance on Route 711 and observed it driving recklessly and passing other vehicles on the route before losing sight of the vehicle.

The suspect vehicle is a white late 1990s to early 2000 model Chevrolet Suburban or similar-style full-size vehicle, police said.

Police described the suspect as a white male with sandy blonde hair, about 6 feet tall possibly with a mustache or goatee who wore a camouflage face net, a camouflage long-sleeve shirt and blue jean shorts.

Anyone with information on the possible suspect or the suspect vehicle is asked to call state police in Greensburg at 724-830-2423.

Purse stolen

State police said someone stole a purse belonging to Cindy S. Kraus, 47, of Jones Mills from inside Rowdy Buck’s bar sometime between 1 and 2 a.m. May 28. Police said the purse contained about $450 in cash and a bankcard. Anyone with information is asked to call state police in Greensburg.

No one injured

State police said neither Mary Dill, 68, of Connellsville nor Arthur Mackey Jr., 63, of Mount Pleasant were injured in a two-vehicle accident at the Route 30 off-ramp 2:28 p.m. June 3. Police said a passenger in Mackey’s vehicle, Shirley Mackey, 67, of Mount Pleasant, sustained a minor injury in the crash.

No injuries reported

A four-vehicle chain reaction left no one injured on Route 30 westbound at 3:50 p.m. Friday, state police said. None of the vehicle operators – Dallas Vandyke of Ruffsdale, Kendall Dukich of Connellsville, Brent Watkiss of Youngwood and Susan Morris of Greensburg – nor their passengers – Shane Washburn of Scottdale, Cortney Klosky of Derry and Tony Dukich of Connellsville – were injured in the crash, police said. Vehicles’ damage ranged from minor to severe, police said.
