John R. (Jack) Fisher
dawson John R. (Jack) Fisher, 80, of Dawson, Pa., formerly of Perryopolis, Pa., died Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at 10:02 a.m., in Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was born July 20, 1924, in Jeanette, Pa., son of the late John and Edna Miller Fisher.
He was a member of The Worldwide Church of God in Mount Pleasant, and a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys Wingrove Fisher; one daughter, Mrs. Terry (Gladys) Thompson of Star Junction; one grandson, Terry Thompson and wife, Nadine of Fayette City; one granddaughter, Janet Thompson of Knoxville, Tenn.; two great-grandsons, Derek and Colton Thompson of Fayette City; one sister, Mrs. Henry (Mae) Knight of Dawson; and three brothers, Charles Fisher and wife, Frances of Monessen, and Harry Fisher and wife, Dolores, and Russell Fisher and wife, Carol, both of Dawson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers.
Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 East Independence St., Perryopolis, Pa., today until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with Pastor Todd Crouch officiating. Interment will be in Mount Washington Cemetery, Perryopolis. Graveside military rites will be accorded by the VFW Gold Star Post 7023 and the American Legion 752 of Perryopolis, Pa.
