Local company hiring 300 workers to handle new contract
TeleTech is hiring 300 new employees to handle customer services for a major, long-term contract with an unnamed automotive company. “What we have done is shifted some business to the Uniontown site and we are anticipating an increase in volume at that site,’ Julie M. Lucas, TeleTech Holdings Inc. director of public relations, said.
“That’s why we are hiring. We hired a few over this past weekend but we are looking to hire more than 300 people,’ she added.
When that hiring is complete, Lucas said, the Uniontown TeleTech center, located in Uniontown Mall, will employ about 750 full and part-time people.
“What the people will do,’ she said, “is place calls to customers of our clients for satisfaction surveys. It’s not sales or anything like that. The facility in Uniontown is a call center,’ she said.
Lucas could not reveal the name of the client but said it is an “automotive’ company. “As a matter of company policy, we keep our client names confidential. This is a long-term contract.’
Employees at the Uniontown center, she said, “place outbound calls to automotive customers in regards to client satisfaction surveys on automotive service performed at a participating dealership and perform service reminders as well. We do not do telemarketing from this facility. It’s important to note that with TeleTech, our clients trust us with their most important asset – their customers – and we take that responsibility very seriously
“We will be hiring up to 340 part-time outbound teleservice agents working approximately 30 hours a week. We are looking for employees with good people skills, an ability to multitask and solve problems, who are self-motivated.
“These are considered part-time jobs working 30 hours a week and will be flexible on the hours. We are trying to attract people whose lifestyles may not lend themselves to normal business hours, such as students or people with kids. Job hours are different.’
TeleTech, she said, offers competitive salaries and benefits and is “rolling out in Uniontown a new employee incentive program call Optimum Reward, where employees can earn up to 30 percent more than their salary. It will be based on performance. We will use a variety of metrics to measure how that goal is reached but it will be done in a monthly form. That means employees can be rewarded month after month,’ she said. TeleTech Holdings, Lucas explained, is a global provider of customer management and business process outsourcing (BPO) solutions.
“We are a global business services company. We provide a full range of front-to-back-office solutions including customer management, BPO, database marketing, and outsourced services. We have a global technology platform and delivery infrastructure. We help clients increase revenue, lower costs and retain their customers around the world,’ she said.
TeleTech’s clients include Global 1000 businesses and governments. “We offer 150 languages, through more than 32,000 employees in 17 countries,’ Lucas said.
Interested job applicants have several ways to send TeleTech a resume, Lucas added. “They can fax it to 724-438-6583 or email it to jill.seder@teletech.com. We are also holding a job fair from 1 to 5 p.m. June 24 at the Uniontown center. And people can always drop off their resumes at the center during regular business hours. It’s open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.’ For more information, call the TeleTech Human Resources office at 724-425-8200.
