Paul D. Hanzely Jr.
Paul D. Hanzely Jr., age 85, of New Salem, Pa., passed away peacefully Friday, June 17, 2005, in Canonsburg General Hospital, Canonsburg, Pa., surrounded by his family.
He was born November 6, 1919, in York Run, Fayette County, Pa., the son of Paul D. Hanzely Sr. and Kathryn Yankura Hanzely.
Paul was a member of Saint Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in New Salem and the Jednota Lodge in Fairchance, Pa.
He was a retired inspector from the Ford Motor Company in Bedford, Ohio.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, by his first wife, Teresa C. Orgovan Hanzely, and a brother, John Hanzely.
He is survived by his second wife, Helen Zentkovich Hanzely; two sons and a daughter: Paul L. Hanzely and his wife, Harriet, of Eighty Four, Pa., Daniel J. Hanzely and his wife, Regina, of Uniontown, Pa., and Kathleen Cummings and her husband, Joe, of Uniontown; four step-children: Loretta Harold of Washington, Pa., Michael Zentkovich and his wife, Janet, of Hibbs, Joe Zentkovich and his wife, Rhonda, of Mayock, North Carolina, and Kathy Ciampanelli and her husband, Gary, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; a brother and three sisters: Joseph Hanzely and his wife, Jane, of Aurora, Ohio, Mary Hanchak of Bedford, Ohio, Catherine Marva and her husband, Tony, of Uniontown, and Ann Poremba and her husband, John of Fairchance, Pa.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, June 20, until 10 a.m. when Panachida will be offered in the Funeral Home.
Divine Liturgy follows at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Church Street, New Salem, with the Reverend Father Jerome G. Botsko officiating.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.
Parastas was held in the Funeral Home today at 7 p.m.
New Salem American Legion Auxiliary conducted Services today at 7:45 p.m.
