No one injured
State police said no one was injured in a 2:46 a.m. accident Saturday when a 1976 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by 17-year-old Charles Thomas crashed along Pleasant View-Smock Road near Waltersburg Road as the truck failed to make a right-hand curve and struck a culvert, sending the vehicle airborne until it came to rest in a yard. Police said two 15-year-old girls and a 15-year-old boy were passengers in the truck. No one wore seatbelts, police said.

DUI charges pending
Charges of driving under the influence of alcohol are pending against a 32-year-old Grindstone man after state police observed the Ford truck the man drove traveling at a high rate of speed and swerving over the center travel line before almost striking an oncoming vehicle on Route 40 westbound at 12:36 a.m. Saturday. The man was transported to Uniontown Hospital for blood alcohol testing, police said.

State police allege that a 54-year-old Champion man struck Michelle Stewart, 33, of White while she was in her vehicle outside her Buchanon Road home at 8 p.m. Saturday. Police said the man was upset with Stewart due to a prior incident.

State police said an unknown phone caller harassed Dairy Queen employees Chirsta J. Roberts and Amanda M. Rucinski over the phone upon calling the Connellsville Street business at 5:18 p.m. May 27.

Hit-and-run crash
Someone driving a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee crashed into a utility pole along Cinder Road around 3:43 a.m. Sunday then fled the scene on foot, state police said. Police said the vehicle had front-end damage.

Driver missing
State police will further investigate an incident where the driver of a vehicle that crashed on Route 31 on Wednesday or Thursday was not located. Police said the vehicle left the roadway and rolled over in the north shoulder. Thomas Tomallo of Ruffsdale owns the vehicle, police added.

Two-vehicle accident
Robert Hixon of Youngwood sustained moderate injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Route 819 on Saturday when the motorcycle he was riding and a vehicle driven by Catherine Stolitca of Mount Pleasant collided, state police said. Hixon was wearing a helmet, police noted. Stolitca was not injured in the accident, police said.

State police charged Alesia Chiaramonte, 45, of Scottdale with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop on Route 31 in Bunker Hill at 12:15 a.m. May 22.

Man to be charged
State police said a 32-year-old Allison man is to be charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and false identification to law enforcement after police found the man was wanted by the Pennsylvania State Parole and in possession of felony amounts of crack cocaine during a 1:45 a.m. Friday traffic stop for vehicle code violations in the parking lot of a book store located along Route 88.

Two cited
Lloyd Stanley Work, 33, of Marianna and Philip Lee Work, 34, of Washington were cited for disorderly conduct after they allegedly fought at a party outside 52 Griffith Ave. at 5 p.m. Saturday, state police said.

In May, borough police issued 26 traffic citations, 25 traffic warnings, five parking citations and two other citations. Police made nine court appearances, settled four domestic disputes and responded to one assault, three burglary incidents, five incidents of larceny, one traffic accident, two criminal complaints, two drug and alcohol violations, three disorderly conduct incidents, six harassment complaints, two criminal mischief, eight housing code violations and three other offenses. Police responded to 35 requests for services, including seven agency assists, 15 citizen assists and 13 law violation assists, and patrolled 1,487 miles on police vehicles.

City police cited Kimberly Deeds of 79 Park Ave. for disorderly conduct after she allegedly played the stereo too loud inside her residence around 11 a.m. Sunday. A neighbor complained of the loud music to police, and police said Deeds’ didn’t hear the police knocking on her door until the music turned off. Police cited Deeds once before.

Beverly Valentine of 57 S. Gordon St. told city police at 11:21 a.m. Sunday that someone stole the license plate off her 1999 Dodge Neon while it was parked in her driveway. License plate number is PD6577R, police said.

Jody Lee Anderson of 70 Lemon St. told city police several male juveniles were outside his home, harassing him. Police said the juveniles were gone prior to police arrival.

Viola H. Cramer of 132 Cleveland Ave. told city police someone stole a dolly from her U-Haul truck around 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Police said there are no suspects at this time.

Melody Jackson of 129 Liberty Ave. told city police that someone tried setting the front door on fire at the unoccupied home next door in the duplex house at 11:20 p.m. Saturday. Police noted that there was a strong odor of accelerant and several charred areas to the base of the door. Police said they will refer the incident to the detectives.

Gerald Thomas Griffith Jr. of 48 Murray Ave. told city police that someone known to him broke four windows in his vehicle around 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Police said an estimate will be forwarded, and the appropriate charges will be filed.

Vehicle wrecked
City police discovered a red Chrysler Lebaron belonging to Joseph Mochese wrecked into a tree along Collins Avenue at 6:12 p.m. Saturday after receiving a call about the vehicle driving recklessly in the area. Police said the vehicle was towed to Joby’s service station.

Dumpster fire extinguished
The Uniontown Volunteer Fire Department extinguished a working dumpster fire in the upper lot at Pershing Court at 8:32 p.m. Saturday. City police said several children in the area said other children were playing with fireworks and accidentally started the fire.

Samantha Stonebreaker told city police three juveniles threatened her outside 84 Walnut St. around 10 p.m. Saturday. Police said the juveniles left prior to police arrival.
