Memorial Services for Mrs. Sara Jean “Sally” Rhodes, 82, of Columbia, S.C., will be held at 10 a.m., today, June 29, 2005, in Christ The King Lutheran Church, with The Rev. Karen Salvo Hawkins officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ The King Lutheran Church General Fund, PO Box 9161, Columbia S 29290-9161. The family has entrusted GREENLAWN FUNERAL HOME, Columbia S.C., with the arrangements. Mrs. Rhodes went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 26, 2005. Sally grew up in Waynesburg, Pa., and later resided in Myrtle Beach, S.C., Rices Landing, Pa., and Columbia, S.C. She enjoyed reading, cross-stitching and most especially playing Uno with her friends and family. Mrs. Rhodes was a member of Christ The King Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Merl F. Rhodes of Columbia; a daughter, Jackie Graham Walker McIlwain and husband, Richard of Columbia; a sister, Josephine Hart of Waynesburg, Pa.; a granddaughter, Lisa Raynsford and husband, Chris of Huntersville, N.C.; a grandson, Johnny H. “Chip” Walker Jr., and wife, Elizabeth of Charleston, S.C.; four great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
