Garner J. “Tussy” Toscano, age 82, of Acme, Bullskin Township, Pa., formerly of West Newton, Pa., a barber for 60 years and most recently with his son and grandson at Toscano’s in Rostraver Township, former owner of The Hitching Post and also The Pleasant Inn in Mount Pleasant, Pa., World War II United States Army Veteran (a Sergeant at the age of 17) and last member of his Army chemical mortar battalion, died Friday, March 4, 2005, in UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh, Pa. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joyce Toscano; children: James V. Toscano and his wife, Linda, of West Newton, Gary S. Toscano and his wife, Karen, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kathy Toscano Matulay of Mount Pleasant, Pa., Kristine and her husband, Jim Weinberg, of Hollywood, Florida, Karolynne and her husband, Chris Griffiths, of Plantation, Florida, Kim and her husband, Don Fiesta, of York, Pa., also Greg Vanyo and his wife, Betsy, of Mount Pleasant; grandchildren: James G., Daniel, Patrick, Karrie, Lindsay, Sarah, Katy, Mickey, Rayne, Gina, Staci and Sean; four great grandchildren; nieces; his former wife, Josephine Toscano; and his companion, Lola.

Friends will be received at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, West Newton, Pa., today, March 7, at 10 a.m.
