Station robbed

A masked man with a chrome-plated handgun demanded money from an employee of Center Independent Oil gas station on Morgantown Road at 8:10 p.m. Monday and fled, state police said. The employee heard someone trying to enter the restroom, went outside with a key and encountered the robber, police said. The suspect was about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thin build. His race was not known. A Uniontown police dog tracked the suspect’s scent to the corner of Braddock Avenue and Elm Street, where, police believe, a getaway car was parked.

Pedestrian struck

Clarence Bird, 86, of Perryopolis was placed in intensive care at Uniontown Hospital for observation because he had difficulty breathing after he was hit by a car Tuesday while walking from the gas pumps to a building at the Gulf station on Route 51 in Star Junction, state police said. He also suffered a cut on the head and chest bruises, police said. Cherie Adams of Dravosburg was driving the vehicle that hit Bird, police said.

Tractor-trailer stolen

State police said a known man did not return a white 1996 Volvo truck bearing Pennsylvania registration AF-03201 and a white 1993 Great Dane trailer bearing Pennsylvania registration PT-2030F to its owner, Brenda K. Duralia, 44, of 721 Dock Howder Road, Champion, after making his scheduled deliveries Monday.

Vehicle stolen

A black 1994 GMC Jimmy owned by Michael McGuire of Ohiopyle was stolen from Summit Motors on Morrell Avenue between March 3 and 8, state police said.

Charges filed

Theft, receiving stolen property, criminal trespass and conspiracy charges were filed against John Mathew Brooks, 22, of Hopwood and Jason Dwayne Miller, 21, of Uniontown for allegedly stealing 10 pieces of wood paneling owned by Slusarczyk Excavating and Landscaping Supply of West Brownsville on Feb. 15, state police said. The paneling was stolen from Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission property at 555 Pittsburgh Road. The charges were filed at Magisterial District Judge Deberah Kula’s office.

Man cited

Justin Duritsky of Uniontown was cited with harassment for allegedly grabbing and shoving Heather M. Morrison of Uniontown in a vehicle on Connellsville Street near Nickman’s Plaza Tuesday at 6:40 p.m., state police said. He was cited at Magisterial District Judge Deberah Kula’s office.

Citation filed

A harassment citation was filed against Mario Piccolomini of Waltersburg for allegedly hitting Dave A. Yanick of Waltersburg during a landlord-tenant dispute Saturday at 4 p.m. at 108 Lower Peanut Road, state police said. The citation was filed at Magisterial District Judge Rick Vernon’s office.

Man assaulted

City police said Donald Arthur reported that three males assaulted him on Connellsville Street near Byers Market at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday.

Windshield broken

City police said someone smashed the windshield on a car owned by Gary Yarborough at his 259 Connellsville St. residence late Monday or early Tuesday.

Sticker stolen

A registration sticker was cut off a Pennsylvania license plate owned by William R. Shields, 52, of 216 Stewarton Road, Mill Run, at his residence Tuesday, state police said.

Juvenile incident

State police at Belle Vernon said a 17-year-old boy struck another 17-year-old boy several times in the face and broke his glasses Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at the corner of Maiden and Chestnut streets.

Bikes recovered

Two bicycles stolen from William B. Miller’s 9 Rose Garden St. residence were found near Strickland Estates trailer park Monday, state police said.

Man escapes injury

State police said David Ford of Clairton was not injured after he lost control of his car on a snow-covered Layton Road at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday and hit a rock embankment.
