Thomas R. Newman, 65, of Grindstone, Pa., passed away Thursday, March 17, 2005, at Brownsville General Hospital, Brownsville, Pa. He was born Sept. 20, 1939, in Grindstone, Pa., the son of the late Harriett and John Newman. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Geri and two brothers, John Newman Jr., and Larry Newman.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Donna Newman of Grindstone, Pa.; two sons, Tom Newman Jr., and wife, Samantha of Star Junction, Pa., and Kenny Newman of Grindstone, Pa.; a daughter, Tammy Newman of Grindstone, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Jeremy, Karra, Kayla, Tom III, April, Rebecca, Ken Jr., and Krandon; and three great-grandchildren, Cody, Austin and Mercedes.

Arrangements are being handled by the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME (formerly Confer Funeral Home), 515 Front St., Brownsville, Pa. Services will be private for the family only.
