Marguerite Camilla “Peg” Maher-Clark
Marguerite Elizabeth “Peg” Maher-Clark, age 92, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Thursday morning, March 17, 2005, in Beverly Health Care.
Born June 1, 1912, in Marguerite, Pa., she was the daughter of Robert W. Maher Sr. and Honora McCarthy Maher.
Marguerite was a member of Saint John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church and The Ancient Order of Hibernians.
“Peg” was publisher of a Catholic Newsletter and she resided during her life in Chicago, Illinois, New York City, New York, and West Palm Beach, Florida.
She was an accomplished seamstress and artist and was a political activist.
She was dedicated to her Catholic Faith.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nelson Palmer Clark, who was from West Palm Beach, Florida, two brothers, Francis Maher and Robert Maher, two sisters, Josephine Maher Schiffbauer and Mary Maher, and her parents.
She is survived by her brothers: John Maher and his wife, Dorothy, of Greensburg, Pa., and Charles Thomas Maher and his wife, Theresa, of Chalfant, Pa., Madeline Maher Hanson of Wisconsin and Regina Maher Donofrio of South Carolina. She was dearly loved by nine of her nieces and nephews: Elaine Rohal, Peter Schiffbauer, Bobby Schiffbauer, Tommy Schiffbauer, Henry Schiffbauer, Rody Schiffbauer, Mary Schiffbauer Machesky, Joey Schiffbauer and Peggy Schiffbauer and several other nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, UNIONTOWN, Pa., this morning (Saturday, March 19) until 9 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 9:30 a.m. in Saint John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Jefferson Street, Uniontown, with the Rev. Father William J. Kiel as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Uniontown.
Visitation was also held Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Parish Wake Service was held Friday evening at 8:30 p.m.
