James B. Garee
James B. Garee, age 88, of Waynesburg, Pa., and formerly of the Connellsville, Pa., area died Sunday, March 20, 2005, in Beverly Health Care, Waynesburg, Pa. He was born May 17, 1916, in Jefferson Township, Pa., son of Howard Garee and Amy Bettler Garee.
Prior to his retirement James worked as an Engineer for the former B&O Railroad, now CSX, for over 30 years. He was also Chairman of the local Railroad Union for 15 years.
James was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 493 in Connellsville, Pa.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Connellsville.
James was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor E. “Peggy” DeVault Garee on May 6, 2003, an infant daughter, Alice Garee, a brother, J. C. Garee, a sister, Garnet, and his parents.
James is survived by his son, James W. Garee and his wife, Patricia, of Chesterland, Ohio; a daughter, Neva Pawlikowski and her husband, Michael, of Eastlake, Ohio; and a daughter, Mary; a stepson, James Miller and his wife, Carol, of California state; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Delmar Garee and his wife, Sally, of Jefferson Township, Pa.
Family and friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 22, at 11 a.m. with the Pastoral Team of the First Baptist Church, the Rev. Geary Witt and the Rev. Ralph Prinkey II, officiating.
A Committal Service will follow in the chapel at Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pa.
Entombment will follow in the Sanctuary of Love Mausoleum.
