Stephen W. Kalfut
Stephen W. Kalfut, age 60, of 106 Woodland Avenue, Masontown, PA 15460 died at 15 Golden Street, Martin, Pa., on Saturday, March 19, 2005, at 9 p.m. He was born December 19, 1944, in Sharon, Pa., the son of John Kalfut and Margaret (Knacpick) Kalfut.
Stephen was a member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4584 both in Masontown, Pa.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War who served in the United States Marine Corps at the rank of Corporal.
He was employed by Fayette County Head Start in Uniontown, Pa.,
Stephen was predeceased by his parents, a son, Charles Anthony Kalfut, a brother, John Kalfut, and a sister, Mary Kalfut Freeman.
He is survived by two children: a son, Stephen W. Kalfut Jr. and his wife, Jenny, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and a daughter, Veronica Kalfut and her special friend, Reed Whoolery, of Smithfield, Pa.; three grandsons and three granddaughters: Charles A. Kalfut Jr., Debra Sue Kalfut, Ashley Leadbeater, Anthony Alan Kalfut, Christopher Noah Kalfut and Peninah Kalfut; two brothers: Paul Kalfut and his wife, Margie, of Park City, Illinois, and Martin Kalfut and his wife, Cindy, of Masontown, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Barbara Kalfut of Masontown, Pa.; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church on 7 River Avenue, Masontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, March 23, until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Masontown, with the Rev. Father James F. Bump as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint Agnes Cemetery, Masontown, where Military Honors and Rites will be accorded by V.F.W. Post 4585 and American Legion Post 423 both of Masontown.
Parish Wake Service will be held in the Funeral Home this evening.
