Ethel M. Mahoney
Ethel Marian Mahoney, 97, died on Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at Beverly Health Care. She was born Oct. 3, 1907, in Uniontown, Pa., the daughter of the late Wade H. Mahoney Sr., and Bessie Humbert Mahoney.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Woodrow Mahoney; and three sisters, Hallie Livingston and Klara and Elinor Mahoney.
For many years, Ethel was an associate with the Mahoney Greenhouses on McClellandtown Road, where she acquired expertise in floral arrangement and design. Ethel was a member of the Central Christian Church and was also a Sunday School teacher in the elementary grades for over 50 years.
She is survived by three brothers, William Mahoney and wife, Virginia of Berlin, Pa., Wade Mahoney Jr. (Tommy) of Uniontown, and Harry Mahoney and wife, Virginia of New London, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Jacqueline Grove and husband, Reid of Uniontown; and a niece, Holly Rabatin and husband, James, along with numerous other nieces and nephews.
She will be especially missed by her great-nephew and niece, Michael Paul Williams Jr., and Sarah Rabatin.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, Pa., where friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, March 26, 2005, from 10 until 11 a.m., when a funeral service will be held by her nephew, LT. Robert M. Grove, Chaplain, USNR, officiating. Interment will follow in the Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
