Residents have voice in operation of LIHEAP
Area residents will have the opportunity at a public hearing in Pittsburgh to provide their opinions on how the state Department of Public Welfare should operate the 2005-06 Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The hearing is scheduled for July 7 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Allegheny County Courthouse, Gold Room, Fourth Floor, 436 Grant St., Pittsburgh.
People who wish to testify on the proposed LIHEAP plan at the hearing should arrange a time by calling 717-772-7906 or 800-692-7462, the toll-free Pennsylvania Helpline, before the start of each public hearing.
Individuals unable to attend may submit written testimony or comments on or before July 15 to the LIHEAP contact person: Karen Kirk, Division of Federal Programs and Program Management, Room 224, Willow Oak Building, Complex 2, Building 42, P.O. Box 2675, Harrisburg, Pa. 17105.
